Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-25

This Privacy Policy explains how GradeMate ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website.

GradeMate is a free suite of grade and test score calculators. We are committed to keeping your data minimal, transparent, and secure.

Information we collect

We do not require you to sign up to use any calculator. The numbers you type into a calculator (grades, exam scores, etc.) stay in your browser — they are never sent to our servers.

We may collect the following limited information automatically:

  • Usage analytics — anonymized page views, device type, and approximate location (country/region) via Cloudflare Workers Analytics. We do not use cross-site tracking.
  • Cookies for advertising — see the section below on advertising.
  • Contact form submissions (if you use one) — the email address and message you submit; used only to reply to you.

Cookies and advertising

GradeMate displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to keep the site free for students.

When you first visit the site from the EU, UK, or California, a consent banner allows you to grant or refuse consent for personalized ads under GDPR and CCPA. You can update your choice at any time via the link in the footer.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name, address, phone number, or government ID
  • Your actual grades or test scores (your inputs never leave your browser)
  • Your school, teacher, or transcript data
  • Payment information (GradeMate is free)

Third-party services

In addition to Google AdSense, we use:

  • Cloudflare — hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may collect server-log data (IP address, request time) for security and performance.
  • Google Search Console — to monitor how our site appears in Google search results.

These services have their own privacy policies, which apply to information they collect.

Children's privacy

GradeMate is designed for U.S. high school and college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (which is typically nothing beyond a possible contact form submission). To exercise these rights, contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the homepage.
