Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-18
This Privacy Policy explains how GradeMate ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website.
GradeMate is a free suite of grade and test score calculators. We are committed to keeping your data minimal, transparent, and secure.
Information we collect
We do not require you to sign up to use any calculator. The numbers you type into a calculator (grades, exam scores, etc.) stay in your browser — they are never sent to our servers.
We may collect the following limited information automatically:
- Usage analytics — aggregate page views, page URLs, referrers, outbound-link and file-download events, browser/device type, and approximate country via our self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance. Calculator inputs are not included in these events.
- Hosting, security, and performance data — Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times, user-agent details, and performance measurements to deliver and protect the site.
- Cookies for advertising — see the section below on advertising.
- Messages you send us — the optional name, email address, page reference, and message you choose to submit through our feedback form; used to investigate issues, reply, and provide support.
Cookies and advertising
GradeMate displays advertisements served by Google AdSense to keep the site free for students.
- Google AdSense and its third-party advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
- Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- For more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- You may also visit aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu to opt out of personalized ads from participating networks.
Your privacy choices
You can control personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. You can also use aboutads.info in the United States or Your Online Choices in Europe to manage participating advertising providers.
Where a regional consent message is shown, you can accept, refuse, or manage the available choices in that message. The Privacy Choices link in our footer always returns to this section.
To request access to or deletion of a message you previously sent us, submit a request through our Feedback form and include a reachable email address. We cannot provide or delete calculator inputs because those inputs are not sent to us.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, address, phone number, or government ID
- Your actual grades or test scores (your inputs never leave your browser)
- Your school, teacher, or transcript data
- Payment information (GradeMate is free)
Third-party services
In addition to Google AdSense, we use:
- Cloudflare — hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may collect server-log data (IP address, request time) for security and performance.
- Plausible Analytics — self-hosted, aggregate website analytics, including page views, referrers, outbound links, and file downloads.
- DingTalk — receives feedback-form messages in our private team workspace so we can review and respond to them.
- Google Search Console — to monitor how our site appears in Google search results.
These services have their own privacy policies, which apply to information they collect.
Children's privacy
GradeMate is designed for U.S. high school and college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (which is typically nothing beyond a message you chose to send). To exercise these rights, use our Feedback form and provide enough information for us to identify your earlier message.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the homepage.
